Punahou Sweeps Team Titles As Hawaii State Meet Returns For First Time Since 2019; Tatum Moku Breaks Pole Vault Record By Doug Binder, DyeStat Editor Kamehameha's Tatum Moku went higher than any female Hawaii pole vaulter in state history over the weekend at the Hawaii state championships and also won the 100-meter hurdles and long jump in Honolulu. The junior went six inches higher than her previous personal best as she cleared 13-1 at the state meet, breaking the all-time state best by an inch. She also ran a personal-record 15.18 to win the hurdles and yet another personal best of 18 feet to take the long jump. Moku was also fourth in the 300 hurdles (48.69). For the first time in three years, the Island Movers/HHSAA Championships returned following two years of cancellations due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Punahou came back to the meet with the deepest program in the state and swept the team titles. John-Keawe Sagapol of Punahou won the shot put (51-11.50) and discus (153-2) competitions to lead the way for the Buff 'N Blue. Kainoa Ronquillo added a victory in the 400 meters (50.00). The Punahou girls won both relays and got individual wins from Kylie Moniz in the 300-meter hurdles (47.57), Sasha Iizuka-Sheeley in the 800 (2:21.85) and Isabella Ford in the 1,500 (4:44.90). Joseph Randolph of Baldwin ran 10.97 to win the boys 100 meters. Olivia Reed of St. Andrews School won the girls 100 in 12.63.
