Baldwin junior Rey Cadiz capped his sensational season by defending his title in the 110-meter hurdles in 14.53 seconds and won another gold in the 300 hurdles with a time of 38.90 in Honolulu. He broke the championship record in the high hurdles, which had stood for 20 years, with his 14.20 clocking in the prelims.

“This was really my best season yet. I accomplished all of my goals. And even though I had a slight hamstring injury, the competition helped me to peak at just the right time and I’m really happy about that,” Cadiz said.

He went on to anchor Baldwin’s 4x100 relay squad to second place, and also second overall in the team standings.

Chenoa Frederick, of Kamehameha Hawaii, racked up a total of five medals Saturday. She was first in the 100 meters (12.52), triple jump (39-10) and long jump (17-5.75). She also placed fourth in the 200 and 400, running 26.11 and 59.45, respectively. Frederick is currently the top-ranked sophomore in the triple jump nationwide and the Hawaii all-time record holder with 41 feet.

For the second year in a row, Seabury Hall swept all of the girls distance events. Senior Veronica Winham swept victories in the 800, 1,500 and 3,000. Her times -- 2:20.30, 4:50.27 and 10:49.27 -- were all personal bests. Teammate Chloe Gangnath placed third in the 1,500 and second in the 800, while another teammate, Darby Mulligan, placed third in the 3,000. All of those points led to a second-place team finish.

For the boys, Konawaena’s Josiah Vallez led wire to wire to win the 800 in 1:58.42. In the 1,500, Iolani’s Jason Wang dropped a lethal kick over the final 200 to win in 4:08.04.

Colby Otero of Kalaheo won the boys 3,000 in 8:57.38, with Wang following behind for second in 9:07.31. Otero and Wang are the first runners to break the 9-minute barrier in Hawaii since 2015.

Punahou sophomore, J. Kai Yamafuji, won the boys pole vault in 14-4. Earlier this season he broke Hawaii's all-time record with 16-0.

Punahou’s Andrei Iosivas won the 100 meters (10.85), 200 (21.67) and long jump (23-3).

Hawaii Baptist Academy’s Madison Moku won both hurdles races, 15.08 and 44.71, respectively. Her time of 14.62 in the 100 hurdles prelims was a new personal best.

Alyssa Mae-Antolin, of Maui High, won the girls 200 in 25.01. Punahou sophomore Kaila Ronquillo won gold in the 400 in 57.06.

Kaiser’s Aaron Rivas won the boys 400 in 49.09, edging out the defending champion, Trenton Wailehua, who followed close behind in 49.30. Wailehua suffered from a minor hamstring injury during the week leading up to the championships.

Kauai’s Taegan Keep won the discus with 127-4. Aiea High’s Leslie Mamai-Lagafuaina threw 42-8.50 for gold in the shot put.

Kamehameha Maui’s Micah Au-Haupu threw 51-3.25 to win the boys shot put. Alama Uluave of Punahou won the boys discus with a mark of 166-11.

Punahou swept the boys and girls team titles. For the boys, Baldwin placed second and Saint Louis was third. Seabury Hall was second for the girls and Kamehameha Hawaii was third.
